  1. Laughing

Laughter stimulates the production of antibodies, particularly immunoglobulin A (IgA), which is found in the mucous membranes and helps defend against respiratory infections. These antibodies play a crucial role in protecting the body from illness.
  1. Fermenting

The first fermentation in kombucha refers to the initial stage where sugar + tea is fermented by a SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast). First fermentation is added as a small portion into each bottle and ferments what is inside. Each kombucha company ferment a little differently. Booyah give our first fermentations around 40% longer than most other brands for more health benefits and a richer taste that is reflected in the flavour. My personal favourite currently is our Lemon & Ginger Energy Boost Kombucha.
  1. Green Tea

Green tea is packed with catechins, a type of antioxidant. The most powerful of these is Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG), which helps protect cells from damage caused by free radicals. Research shows that EGCG has anti-inflammatory properties, protects cells from oxidative stress, and may even reduce the risk of chronic diseases like cancer.

For those interested in diving deeper into the science, check out this study: “Green Tea Catechins and Their Health Effects” published in the journal Molecules (2019). It explores how catechins, especially EGCG, contribute to the prevention of various diseases through their antioxidant properties. You can read more about it here.
