Coffee, Behind The Brew & GH Myths

  • 2 min read
Hello Booyah Drinkers!

Welcome back to another edition of the Booyah Buzz, your go-to source for the latest in health tips and Booyah updates. This week, we’re diving into how caffeine stays in your system for longer than you might anticipate, some appreciation for our Brewer, some myths around gut health and how to sleep better.

1. Coffee Quarter Life

Caffeine’s half-life is about 5-6 hours, meaning half of it is still in your body after that time. Its quarter-life—when only a quarter remains—can take 10-12 hours, which is why afternoon coffee can affect your sleep. For a caffeine-free option, try Booyah’s Dandelion Alternative Coffee here.

2. Behind the Brew: George

Starting in April this year, George has a great asset in the brewery now taking the lead of working practice in the warehouse. He's responsible for 90% of the work in the brewery and has most likely made, bottled and packaged all of the bottles in your fridge. Thank's George for all your hard graft!

3. Gut Health Myths

Myth: Probiotics Work for Everyone
Truth: While probiotics can benefit some people, they’re not a one-size-fits-all solution. The effectiveness depends on the specific strains, individual gut microbiome, and health conditions.

Myth: A Healthy Gut Means No Gas or Bloating
Truth:
Some gas and bloating are normal signs of digestion. Persistent or painful symptoms could indicate an imbalance, but occasional discomfort is typical.

Myth: You Must Eliminate All Carbs for a Healthy Gut
Truth:
Complex carbs, like whole grains and vegetables, are rich in fiber, which feeds healthy gut bacteria. Cutting out carbs entirely can starve beneficial microbes.

HEALTH HACK

Better Sleep and Peaceful Mornings
Your phone could be sabotaging your sleep and your mornings. The blue light from screens delays melatonin production, disrupting your circadian rhythm and making it harder to fall asleep. Keeping your phone out of the bedroom helps you wind down without distractions, giving your brain the signal it’s time to rest.

If you need an alarm clock, be a grown up and get hold of one.
