Cinnamon and blood sugar
As the winter season encourages us to indulge in comforting foods and drinks, cinnamon offers a natural way to help regulate blood sugar levels. This warming spice contains compounds like cinnamaldehyde, which can improve insulin sensitivity and mimic the effects of insulin, helping your cells absorb glucose more efficiently. By incorporating cinnamon into your diet—whether in a warm cup of tea or Booyah Kombucha Orange & Cinnamon—you could maintain more stable energy levels, avoid post-meal sugar spikes, and keep your blood sugar in check during the colder months.

Is “Eco-Friendly” Milk Hiding Bigger Health Concerns?
Recently, Arla Foods began trialing Bovaer, a methane-reducing feed additive for cows, as part of its sustainability efforts. While cutting methane emissions by nearly 30% is an admirable goal, it has raised health and ethical concerns. The additive, Bovaer, contains a chemical called 3-NOP, which alters a cow's digestion to suppress methane production. Although manufacturers claim the additive doesn’t transfer into milk and has regulatory approval, skeptics question whether long-term health risks have been thoroughly assessed. Past experiences with “safe” chemicals show potential harms can emerge decades later.
Critics, including leading naturopaths, argue that industrial farming practices like this prioritise mass production at the expense of animal welfare and consumer trust. They also highlight environmental risks, with fears that chemicals from waste could seep into soil and water. Amid this, alternatives like raw milk, organic dairy, and some plant-based milks offer safer and more sustainable options. As we rethink food systems, one thing is clear: transparency and rigorous testing are essential for consumer confidence.
Milk should nourish, not gamble with health. What do you think—are these innovations a step forward or a Pandora’s box? I extracted a lot of the above info from an article published by the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM). Read more of the CNM article here.
HEALTH HACK
Stretching
I hate stretching. I dabble in it to get by but to really push myself with stretching is pure sickly pain for me personally and I've always avoided working at it. THAT BEING SAID...I've been doing the couch stretch recently before bed and at training. It has noticeably reduced discomfort in my hips particularly after balancing out my tight hip to be as flexible as the other.
Do 5 minutes of research and find 5 minutes of your day to integrate it. Pay off is worth it.
