Wash Fruit, Festive Gut Health & GinBoocha

  • 2 min read

Hello Booyah Drinkers!

Welcome back to another edition of the Booyah Buzz, your go-to source for the latest in health tips and Booyah updates. The office temperature has been far from balmy recently this week. Rather than supplementing with the radiator, we've been extra stubborn and doing 1 minute of exercise- any exercise every other hour on the hour. Keeps us warm, its a bit of fun and keeps the team feeling strong. Would highly recommend it for your own workplace!

1. Wash Your Fruit & Veg Correctly

A simple solution of apple cider vinegar and bicarbonate of soda can help remove pesticides, dirt, and bacteria from your fruit and veg. To clean your produce, fill a bowl with water, add 1–2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, and a pinch of bicarbonate of soda. Soak for 10–15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly under cold water. This method is not only effective but also natural, leaving your produce fresh and safe to enjoy.

2. Festive Gut Health

The holidays can be tough on your gut, with indulgent foods and late nights taking a toll. But integrating simple gut-health practices can keep your immune system strong. Start your day with a probiotic-rich drink like kombucha or kefir to support your microbiome. Add prebiotic foods like garlic, onions, or Dandelion Coffee to your festive dishes to nourish your gut bacteria. Additionally add in some Turmeric where you can to reduce any inflammation building. By caring for your gut, you’ll be better equipped to enjoy the festivities without feeling run down.

3. GinBoocha: Gin & Cucumber, Mint & Lime Kombucha

Cucumber, Mint & Lime Kombucha pairs all too well with Gin. If you're doing your gut some harm with alcohol, balancing it out with kombucha might just evaporate that hangover by supporting your gut, liver and dosing your body with a boatload of antioxidants and organic acids.  Try a healthy twist with Ginboocha gift packs available at our shop, farmers markets or order your own kombucha and try your own here.

HEALTH HACK

Vitamin D
It's dark a lot during this time of year in the UK at least. Everybody is likely to be super low on Vitamin D: a foundation in strengthening your immune system. When supplementing with Vitamin D, ensure its effectiveness by having it alongside vitamin K2 and Magnesium. Otherwise you won't reap the real health benefits of the Vitamin D itself.
